The “Merc”
The Merc exists to foster art and maintain a community of artists, and a diverse gathering of neighbors in an unpretentious, welcoming and enthusiastic space for all types of people and all types of art.
We have long been a community gathering place for an extensive geographic area and social area. It is a home for people of all walks of life, a place where people can meet, exchange ideas and conversation. It is a place where people can feel supported and welcomed to sing for the first time, read first poems, play with a new band and ALSO be inspired by incredibly talented professionals touring through.
The diversity of the customers and of what they bring and share is celebrated. The Merc is a living “living room.”
There is a culture made by consensus.
